Here's your chance to explore some of the Mediterranean's hidden gems. Your dream holiday on a luxury charter yacht in the Med is all about summer ... the sun is hot, the skies are blue, the sea is warm and the beaches are plentiful and postcard-perfect. Many are global brands but there are also a few that have escaped this attention. And we're sharing a few of our secret spots.
Cala Xarraca, Ibiza, Spain
In an island with a lot of lovely beaches the beautiful bay of Cala Xarraca is something of a secret with very little development, crystal clear seas and golden sand surrounded by lush green woodlands, some startling barren red cliffs and a sprinkling of white houses. Also in the vicinity are hot mud baths that are said to have healing properties. And if you do wish to go ashore for a meal rather than dine aboard your luxury charter yacht there is one little traditional Iberican restaurant serving up simple but super fresh seafood. It is paradise for both snorkelers and photographers alike and a welcome quiet interlude from the bustling beaches in the south.

Cala Gonone, Sardinia, Italy
Located on the central eastern coast of Sardinia Cala Gonone's inaccessibility by land is definitely part of this areas appeal. There is a delightful small town dotted with low key bars and restaurants and a long seafront esplanade bordered by two larger beaches at each end. But it is slightly further afield that really makes this place special ... sheer limestone cliffs and paths through vibrant green gorges to sparling white sandy beaches opening up to the brilliant blue waters as well as the odd tunnel and cave to explore. Magnificent!

Egremni, Lefkada, Greece
Lefkada's longest beach and once one of the islands most popular Egremni was hit by an earthquake in November 2015. This cut off all road access for 2016 and it is unsure whether the road will be open again for 2017. The beauty of being on a luxury charter yacht however is that you will still have access to this most beautiful of beaches, and there is only one small area where a landslide is visible. Voted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by the likes of CNN and Trip Advisor numerous times this is one beach not to be missed.

Monterosso, Cinque Terre, Italy
It's true that Cinque Terre is not known for its beaches however the last of the five villages, Monterosso, does indeed sport its own strip of sand and pebbles along with a lovely seaside promenade. In fact there are two beaches located in front of the two parts to this lovely village. The historic and new sections are linked by an underground tunnel running beneath the San Cristoforo headland. The water here is crystal clear, turquoise blue and there is a lovely selection of restaurants and bars looking out across this stunning sea.
Sa Calobra, Mallorca, Spain
While Mallorca may be renown for her beautiful beaches these are mostly located on the south and eastern coasts rather than the rugged west coast. There is however one distinctive beach here, Sa Calobra, that has been an inspiration to poets and painters, both present and past, and it is located at the end of a gorge made by the Torrent de Pareis, north of Soller. When you first arrive on your luxury charter yacht you will see a small beach out in front of the small village but wander through the spectacular rocks and you will find where the gorge meets the sea. The beach might be small but the surroundings are absolutely impressive.

Bol, Brac Island, Croatia
Bol beach is one of the most beautiful and unique beaches in the Mediterranean. V-shaped and protruding some 500m into the clear Adriatic Sea the cape constantly shifts in direction influenced by the wind and current. Long, golden and surrounded by deep blue and turquoise seas this is a stunning, must-do destination while on a charter yacht cruising the Adriatic. The delightful old Bol town has small stone houses and winding cobbled streets set around a small, picturesque marina.

Sveti Stefan, Montenegro
A fortified island village, Sveti Stefan is joined to the mainland of Montenegro by a narrow isthmus and is host to three pretty pink sand beaches, as well as a picturesque mix of medieval stone villas, narrow cobbled streets and shaded courtyards all surrounded by the tempting turquoise waters of the Adriatic. It is little wonder that this photogenic spot is now mostly private, owned by the exclusive Arman resort. However access to the beaches is not restriced and a prettier view from your beach chair or luxury charter yacht you'll be hard pressed to find.
