The Luxury Yacht Winners at the USVI Charter Show

Over 100 brokers from the Caribbean, US and Europe attended, with an additional 40 brokers tuning in virtually, emphasizing the show’s “must-do” appeal.

40 charter yachts were open for show, among them some of the most popular charter vessels in the region and some newcomers too. It was a boutique fleet of yachts ranging from 45 to 120-feet in length, monohulls and multihulls, power and sail.

Each yacht and its crew ensured brokers enjoyed their distinct characteristics so as to better convey these attributes to their charter clients.

Luxury Charter Group attended the show, inspecting every yacht and meeting the Captains and crew to gain insight into the specialties and strengths of each and every one of them. 

Here are the luxury charter yachts that won awards in the Competitions at the Show:

A 120ft (36.7m) US-built luxury charter yacht, BURN RATE has many outstanding features, including generous deck space and five fantastic crew on board to cater to guests’ wishes, including a brilliant Chef whose culinary creativity was rewarded at the USVI Charter Show.

Chef Tanya Theron won the Appetiser category with her Lionfish Ceviche with Wasabi Cucumber Ice cream and Plantain Chips. Chef Tanya’s dessert tied for First Place and was an exquisite Plantain Panna Cotta, Mango Three Ways, Toasted Coconut and Almonds, White Chocolate Crumb, Strawberries, Lime Tuile, and Rum Caramel Sauce.

BURN RATE accommodates up to eight guests in four luxurious staterooms, comprising a full-beam king master suite, two double staterooms and a further convertible queen stateroom which can also be used as a spare sitting room or children’s playroom.

Interiors are stylish and contemporary featuring pale timber walls and honey-coloured floorboards, opulent Carerra and Emperador marble in the bathrooms and macassar ebony in the master stateroom. BURN RATE comes with a full complement of the latest watertoys for non-stop fun during charter.

AEOLUS

AEOLUS is an exceptional 65ft Lagoon catamaran, with all the amenities for sensational charters for up to eight guests.

Decks spaces are numerous, including a superb flybridge with bar, dining area, lounges and dual helms. AEOLUS specialises in the perfect mix of “Luxury and Modern Adventure”, for charters that can include scuba diving or taking to the water on Seabobs, E-foil, Subwing, watersports equipment, floating lounge, huge tender and more.

From the large saloon there is direct access to the foredeck terrace with more sofas, a coffee table and an optional canopy for privacy and shade. The three crew aboard AEOLUS are renowned for their hospitality, energy and ability to adapt to the preferences of guests to create personalised charter vacations.

AEOLUS’ Chef Therese Gorsich tied for First Place with her dessert Chocolate Truffle Cake with Bruleed Pineapple, Passionfruit Caramel, Macadamia Praline, and Lemongrass Icecream.

SOUTHERN COMFORT

A 52F Lagoon, SOUTHERN COMFORT is a 15.8m (52ft) comfortable catamaran with a versatile 5-cabin layout to suit large groups or extended families. Four queen staterooms are available, each with its own private ensuite, and there’s a fifth cabin with bunk beds available to family groups as required.

On deck, there are several spaces for guests to spread out and relax. The flybridge provides the best seat in the house whether under sail, at anchor by day or under stars. There’s a foredeck lounge and aft deck for dining with lounge seating on both sides of the vessel.

Inside, the saloon offers another dining and lounge area and high-tech entertainment system for guests’ enjoyment. Her two crew are extremely capable and the onboard Chef is well-versed in international cuisine, as well as a range of refreshing cocktails for which they were judged second to none at this year’s USVI Charter Show!

JUSTIFIED HORIZONS is an impressive 65ft (m) catamaran with all the inclusions for her 10 charter guests to relax and enjoy charter in the Caribbean. There are five queen cabins onboard, each with private ensuite, and large deck spaces for entertaining, sunbathing and socialising.

Interiors are bright, light and airy, with contemporary décor and large windows for jaw-dropping views from every angle. JUSTIFIED HORIZONS offers scuba diving with courses available onboard and new watertoys for guests to make the most of their Caribbean charter.

Along with (husband and wife) Captain and award-winning Chef Dani Querry, there’s an accomplished Stewardess, all of whom make charter aboard JUSTIFIED HORIZONS a memorable experience. Chef Dani came runner-up in the Mains category with Coconut Poached Mahi with Recao, Lemongrass, Lemon Bay Leaf, Ribboned Yellow Squash and Zucchini.

LADY SHARON GALE is a custom-built 112ft superyacht with all the features to pamper charter guests during charter in the Virgin Islands. With large spaces and lavish features over three levels, LADY SHARON GALE will delight her guests with options, including sundeck with dining area, bar and jacuzzi, generous aft deck for casual dining and foredeck with sunpads.

Interiors boast maple panelling, all-new furnishings, fabrics and stone details of the highest quality to create an ambience of casual elegance. LADY SHARON GALE also offers the latest entertainment system for guests’ enjoyment.

For accommodation for up to 10 guests, there are four staterooms on the lower deck; a master with king size bed, cedar lined closet and his-and-her ensuite, the VIP stateroom with queen size bed, plenty of storage and large ensuite, and two additional cabins with a double and a twin bed in each cabin – ideal for families.

The experienced crew of four includes celebrated Chef AJ Sharpe, who took out this year’s Main Dish and Dessert categories with delectable creations that wowed judges with their taste and visual appeal. Her winning main was Red Hind Grouper, Pickled Baby Beetroot and Radish, Parsnip Crisps, Butternut Squash and White Sweet Potato Puree, Roasted Okra, and Micros, while the dessert that snatched victory from the other worthy contenders was her tropical version of Panna Cotta.

LET’S PLAY TWO

A laid-back beach house style charter yacht, LET’S PLAY TWO is a compact 44ft Leopard catamaran, with multiple areas for relaxing and dining including flybridge, foredeck with double trampolines and sunpads, and large aft deck.

Inside, there are three queen cabins each with private ensuite for up to six guests, a large saloon for lounging or dining and a fantastic crew of two who go above and beyond for guests.

LE REVE

Runner Up Best Yacht in Show - 56ft - 65ft

62ft (18.9m) LE REVE specialises in treating guests to “the art of living” – encompassing cuisine, adventure, serenity and sight-seeing aboard this sensational Lagoon catamaran.  

LE REVE accommodates up to six charter guests in three spacious air-conditioned staterooms, each with private ensuite. Guests can enjoy gourmet meals and relaxing in the large aft seating area or retreat to the massive sundeck for sunbathing and savouring the views. The gull-wing bridge deck design allows for greater comfort and smoother sailing in all conditions.

For on-water fun, LE REVE is equipped with an impressive array of water equipment, including waterskis, paddle boards, snorkelling gear, kiteboard and scuba set-up including compressor. 

SEA DOG

Runner Up Best Yacht in Show - Up to 55ft

SEA DOG is a Leopard 50 catamaran, with spacious accommodation and deck areas for her six charter guests, including large foredeck with sunpads, aft deck and open flybridge with dining area and lounges.

SEA DOG provides three large cabins, one master stateroom with queen bed, lounge, TV and ensuite, and two additional spacious queen cabins each with ensuite. Her Captain and Chef are renowned for their warm hospitality, enthusiasm for charter and local knowledge of the marvellous cruising grounds of the Virgin Islands.
