Fresh from the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival, here’s the Luxury Charter Group pick of the latest batch of gadgets and gizmos which take luxury family charter fun to the next level!
As a charter yacht guest you have plenty to look forward to on your next charter: warm days of uninterrupted relaxation with jaw-dropping backdrops of tropical islands or exotic coastlines – so much to arouse the senses and calm the soul. But when your thoughts turn to taking the plunge and enjoying some time in the water, your luxury charter vessel will have an array of watertoys and high-tech gear to keep you amused, whatever your skill level and appetite for thrills! Here's some of the new fancy play toys for you to enjoy:
Shred Sled
From the makers of the Seabreacher submersible comes the Shred Sled. An advance on the wakeboard, the Shred Sled is an incredible, simple and comfortable single-jet powered sled that is easy to ride. Riders can simply move from kneeling to a full standing position. According to its manufacturers, you can even land at high-speed right on the beach! Shred Sled is connected to a jetski via the Jetovator hose, then the power of the jetski creates water pressure that elevates it in the air.
Freedom Flyer
The Seabreacher Freedom Flyer is a specially adapted Jetovator model designed to offer disabled pilots the freedom to fly with ease in the comfortable sitting position that they are accustomed to. The controls are similar to manipulating the wheels of a conventional wheel chair.
Jet Surf
Jet Surf is a blend of surfboards, wakeboards, bodyboards and kiteboards, with a two-stroke engine.
Jet Surf was created and designed by Martin Sula, a Formula 1 engineer from the Czech Republic. It weighs 15 kilograms and can be easily carried down to the beach by a single person. It has an automatic electronic control unit that is manually operated to reach a maximum speed of 57 km/h (35 mph).
Mavic Air
Hovering over the sea is DJI’s new Mavic Air, the world’s smallest and fastest foldable drone that makes taking those high-def sweeping beach shots a breeze. Created by Aeromotus, Mavic Air lets you see the sea and your superyacht from above, capture images and videos and see ahead for conditions and anchorages.
Sublue Shark MIX
The ultra-portable, world’s smallest underwater scooters with double propellers allows everybody, regardless of your swimming ability, take to the water with ease and confidence. The Sublue MIX has zero buoyancy in water so it won’t sink if it’s released.
Seabike
This cool underwater vehicle with a propeller can be used both on the surface and beneath. Simplicity of its construction and steering make it easy to use even for kids and beginners. The BASE model has steering handlebar for easy support and manoeuvering, and can be upgraded to SPORT or PRO.
Seabob F5S
For pool, lake or sea use, the latest version of this perennially popular watertoy, the Seabob F5S is an ultimate high-performance watercraft. Weighing just 34 kg, it boasts a strong propulsive force of 680 newtons in the water. The E-Jet Power System is controlled in 6 power levels, allowing you to glide along at a relaxed pace in a low gear or, for more ambitious high-speed driving, switch up to sixth gear.
Seakart
A cross between a jetski and inflatable boat, the Seakart 335 is ideal for a family wanting a fun weekend tender or a yacht owner looking for a cross between an entertaining watercraft and a tender.
Chilli Island
Chilli-Island is a motorized floating device, an electric deck chair, that can comfortably accommodate two people for a leisurely float/cruise – no license required. Measuring 2.5 x 2.25m and weighing 200kg, the Chilli Island is made of polyethylene body and fibreglass frame for sturdy, stable, safe support.
