LANA: a Superstar Luxury Charter Yacht in the Med this Summer

In 2020, LANA was crowned 'Yacht of the Year' for vessels measuring over 82m at the World Yacht Trophies in Cannes – a proud moment for the Italian shipyard, Benetti, located in Livorno on the west coast of Tuscany.

Founded in 1873 by Lorenzo Benetti, the iconic Benetti shipyard evolved from wooden boats to specialise in composite, semi-custom and custom-built motor yachts. There are close to 100 Benetti superyachts in charter, including some absolute standouts, such as 11.11, ANDIAMO, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, SEANNA, ILLUSION V and the lavish, lovely LANA.

Everything about LANA is impressive, not just her length. Ceiling heights inside are 8’9” (2.7 meters) her beam comes in at 47 feet (14.4 meters) and her volume is 3,900 gross tons, making this stellar example of a luxury charter yacht a veritable palace afloat for her pampered guests.

Over five decks, LANA boasts every conceivable lifestyle attribute that her 12 charter guests could dream of. For utter relaxation and well-being, LANA has a large spa with hammam, gym, and mosaic-tiled massage room forward adjacent to the beach club and an inviting pool on the sundeck that can be enjoyed cool or warm.

The seven guest staterooms are located on the main deck. On the wheelhouse deck is the full-beam owner’s suite with two balconies, original modern art, Art Deco-style light fixtures and finely-crafted timber panelling. Each VIP guest cabin is decorated in an individual colour scheme making each room unique. 

Her 34 professional charter crew occupy cabins on the lower deck, with the remaining cabins a further level down. For entertainment, the owner and guests can watch movies in the upper saloon or on the wheelhouse deck which also has an elegant baby-grand piano.

LANA has no shortage of exquisite features, from the hand-sculpted onyx dining table to a winter garden that overlooks the sea. There’s also a large swimming pool, cinema room, a full gym and multiple social spaces, indoors and out.

Inside, this magnificent luxury charter yacht is symphony in lavish, yet tasteful contemporary interior design. The main deck is defined by dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows that allow in plenty of natural light and the use of tactile materials such leather, timber and stainless steel, as well as masterful use of lighting in sculptural forms.

In the main foyer, two intertwined ribbons of light spiral upwards, surrounded by the staircase and original artworks for guests’ appreciation.

The main salon is an intimate environment, comprising three large sofas around a coffee table for conversation and a widescreen TV for the latest films or sport. The onboard cinema is cosy and inviting, with oversized armchairs, a plush sofa and massive screen coupled with surround sound systems and blackout curtains for the ultimate private cinema experience.

Benetti’s in-house team created both the exterior and interior design.  A soft colour palette is used throughout LANA to create an ambience of serenity and tranquillity. High ceilings and sculptural elements replicate the motion and fluidity of the sea, complemented by the fine Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail.

For watertoys and tenders, LANA is laden with the latest and greatest for hours of on-water fun for charter guests of all ages. There are jetskis, Seabobs, windsurfs, wakeboards, scuba diving equipment, fishing gear and golf set-up, including biodegradable balls guests can aim at the floating green.
