Charter yacht brands to know: AMELS
Based in Vlissingen, Holland’s third-busiest port and centre of Dutch shipbuilding, Amels is a shipyard with an enviable pedigree and history of award-winning superyachts.
From their first launch in 1982 to the current fleet of custom and semi-custom designs, Amels offers an impressive range of luxury yachts from 36 to over 75 metres in length. There is a good selection of Amels yachts available for private charter in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and other destinations.
The Amels facilities comprise climate-controlled halls, covered dry docks and direct access to the North Sea for ease of launching even the largest vessels.
Amels and Damen shipyards are interlinked. Amels has been part of Damen Shipyards since 1991. Damen bridges the gap between fully custom and semi-custom yacht building that gave rise to Amels' successful Limited Editions concept. Damen is a leader in a wide range of specialist shipbuilding, refit and conversion markets including Naval, Security, Offshore and Yachting. Damen builds the Yacht Support range of vessels and the SeaXplorer range of expedition yachts.
Amels yachts owe their reputation for sturdiness, reliability and seaworthiness to the rigorous research and development process of Damen.
