ACE - Judges’ Commendation

44.27m ACE is a sensational charter yacht and close to our hearts at Luxury Charter Group. LCG broker, Radek Gendek, worked with a long-time client to bring his vision to life in collaboration with Polish shipyard, Conrad, and this impeccable superyacht is now available for charter, exclusively through Luxury Charter Group. With design by Diana Yacht Design and Reymond Langton Design and interiors by m2atelier, ACE debuted in 2022. The judges felt ACE was deserving of special mention this year for her high quality construction, well-laid-out deck spaces, superb interior design and excellent crew spaces. With an abundance of features, ACE is the ideal choice for charter vacation for up to 10 guests, available for charter in the French Riviera, Monaco, Italy, Sardinia and Corsica.

KENSHŌ - Motor Yacht of the Year and Displacement Motor Yachts, 1,500GT and above

74.85-metre/246-foot KENSHŌ – a Japanese word meaning “seeing one’s true nature” – was overwhelmingly voted Motor Yacht of the Year for 2023 AND Displacement Motor Yacht of the year above 1,500GT. The judging panel was unanimous on this exceptional superyacht’s advanced design, construction and appearance, driven by an owner who aimed to create a vessel that stood out from the crowd. KENSHŌ was designed by Netherlands-based Azure, and Germany-based archineers.berlin, with interiors by Parisian design studio Jouin Manku, using a palette of soft natural tones in leather, teak, metal and glass. With accommodation for up to 12 guests, KENSHŌ boasts a pool and deck jacuzzi, large selection of watertoys and high-tech entertainment systems on board for guests to enjoy.

MARALA - Rebuilt Yachts

Defined as a considerable overhaul in exterior, interior and in technical areas, the Rebuilt category always attracts interesting vessels. This year, judges deemed the standout winner MARALA, a classic motor yacht built by Camper & Nicholsons in 1931 which has had just four owners during her 92-year life. Rebuilt at Pendennis Shipyard over two and a half years, MARALA has been reinvigorated to her original grandeur. Judges commented that a yachting treasure had been saved by a meticulous period-conscious rebuild and this made her a worthy winner. She is now available for charter for up to 12 guests.

ATHOS - Refitted Yachts

The 63.25-metre, two-masted schooner ATHOS caught the judges’ eyes for her superb refit. Designed with all the necessary attributes for a circumnavigation, ATHOS launched in 2010. Her owners took the step of chartering the vessel for a year to get the feel of this incredible yacht before buying her. During that time, the owners observed how they felt they could customise her for their own circumnavigation. After purchase, ATHOS underwent a refit of 12 months at Royal Huisman’s Huisfit yard in Amsterdam. A larger cockpit was added, along with new equipment and carbon-fibre rigging. The quality and practicality of the work impressed the judges. A majestic sight to behold on the water, ATHOS has a family-friendly layout and is suitable for charter for up to 12 guests.

SØRVIND - Sailing Yachts, 30m to 49.9m

Launched in 2022, 34.59-metre SØRVIND was built in Cape Town, South Africa by Southern Wind to a design by naval architects Farr Yacht Design, with exterior and interior design by the Milan-based Nauta Design. The pride and joy of a keen sailor, SØRVIND was designed as a “high-performance yacht for fast and comfortable sailing that embodies a ‘Nordic Cool’ spirit, while also designed for success on the charter market”. Environmentally friendly synthetic teak decks and titanium stanchions reduce her weight, allowing her to sail in the lightest of wind conditions, creating an incredible charter experience for guests. With all living space on a single level, her bright and light Scandi-style interior and flexible layout are ideal for up to eight guests in tranquillity and comfort.

UNKNOWN - Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and below, 30m to 39.9m

New in 2022, Benetti Oasis superyacht, UNKNOWN, is a 34.36-metre charter yacht with exterior design by UK-based RWD and interiors by the New York architectural firm bonetti/kozerski. The first thing about UNKNOWN that drew the judges’ attention was the ground-breaking innovations on deck, in particular the aft deck with a huge and open beach club over two decks, centred on a glass-backed pool occupying the two levels. The judges also admired the open beach sensation created by the fold-down bulwarks to port and starboard, as well as the ideally positioned sunbathing area surrounding the pool, and the ability to unite all of this with the dining room through its wide semicircular doors. No other yacht, the judges felt, could match this highly desirable feature, which has proven exceptionally popular with charter guests. UNKNOWN is available for charter for up to 10 guests in five palatial staterooms.

COME TOGETHER - Displacement Motor Yachts, 500GT to 1,499GT

Of the many entries in this popular category, COME TOGETHER, the first vessel in the Amels 60-metre semi-custom series designed by Damen Yachting, with exterior design by Espen Øino and interiors by Winch Design took the honours. The owner’s brief for COME TOGETHER included sustainability, stability and seaworthy cruising. The owner specified a large sundeck and touch and go helipad, plus a calm ambience inside for guests to relax and unwind in style. In the judges’ view, the amazingly spacious sundeck which can be closed off with sliding glass doors if weather is inclement, an on board wellness facility, and the vessel’s hybrid-propulsion technology put COME TOGETHER at the top of the pack this year. COME TOGETHER is a brilliant yacht for charter and suits up to 12 guests.
