AMALFI

The town that this dramatically beautiful coast is named after, Amalfi, is a shimmering Medieval city based around a traditional fishing village. Amalfi Town is located in the heart of the region in a ravine with the impressive Monte Cerreto its natural overseer and an imposing 9th century Church of Santa Maria Maggiore and Cloister of Paradise at its centre. Aside from its natural beauty there are some superb restaurants and bars to explore. 

RAVELLO

A visit to the romantic mountain-top village of Ravello is recommended. It is a peaceful charming place that has long been the playground of the rich and famous. Jacqueline Kennedy, Greta Garbo and Tennessee Williams all holidayed here and it is easy to see why people keep coming back. It is a refined place, stylish and glamorous, home to numerous lavish villas and manicured gardens.

POSITANO

Approaching Positano onboard CHASSEUR you will be treated to an iconic vertical panorama of pastel-coloured houses climbing the hills, and in the foreground silvery grey beaches and the turquoise of the sea. Spiaggia Grande is the most famous beach on the Amalfi Coast, attracting a fashionable crowd of celebrities and charter guests. The beach is 300 meters long making it the largest in the area, and is back-dropped against the cliff-side town and home to some of the nicest beach clubs, turning up the volume after 3pm. 

SORRENTO

Sorrento is a quaint and beautiful Italian town winding along a cliff above a small beach and two harbors. The town is has a narrow ravine runing through it formed by a former mountain stream. The people are friendly and hard working and there are many fine old shops selling the ceramics, lacework and intarsio (marquetry items) as well as the local liqueur made from Sorrento lemons, limoncello, that are all famously produced here. Overlooked by Mt Vesuvius it also a good base to explore Pompeii and other archaeological sites to the north.
