When you are welcomed aboard the magnificent 56-metre sailing schooner, ARIA I (ex-REGINA), you step into the world of the James Bond movie, Skyfall, and, more specifically, the world of its star, Daniel Craig. ARIA I is available for charters in the Mediterranean May to September in Montenegro, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, Sardinia, Corsica, Gulf of Naples and Sicily and the Aeolian Islands
This is the yacht which, through its graceful lines, comfort and sheer beauty, brought gasps from audiences watching Skyfall. It is also the yacht that both Daniel Craig and his co-star, Bérénice Marlohe, chose to be aboard during breaks while shooting of the hugely successful movie.
ARIA I is the epitome of luxury yacht cruising in every sense, and the Luxury Charter Group is the company that can arrange this ultimate cruising experience for you from the planning stage, to being aboard and then – somewhat reluctantly – stepping ashore.
Every detail on this classically styled yacht has been created with comfort, elegance and class as the essential elements for the indulgence of those on board. Her beautiful teak decks, which sweep aft from the tip of her bow to the stern, are, in essence, a promenade where every outdoor pleasure can be embraced. On the foredeck is a comfortable settee and 12-person table where guests can relax and enjoy a tranquil environment while watching a fiery golden sunset while sipping on ‘sundowners’.
On the aft deck, guests have some exceptional options to consider, including lazing on a large, flat-bed sunlounge which, when the sun is too hot, is protected by a portable tent. There is also first-class dining for 12 in a magnificent setting which is just aft of the most outstanding feature, a very welcoming and casual wet bar where guests can enjoy drinks and canapés while watching their favourite movie on a large screen 3D television.
The warmth of heavily varnished timber is prominent both on deck and below, all of which brings a strong nautical flavour to the high level of luxury ARIA I offers. Featuring in the main salon and throughout the entire accommodation area is high-grade sapele mahogany, an African timber which is of such a high standard that it is used to make high-quality musical instruments.
The main salon features a formal dining area, two sumptuous sofas and, as a piéce de resistance, a highly-polished white grand piano.
Accommodation is for 12 guests in six master suites, all of which are presented with a level of comfort that is comparable with the best hotels. The master cabin extends across ARIA I’s entire 9.5 metre beam. It includes a king-size bed and a separate small salon which is furnished with a comfortable sofa. A VIP cabin is located further forward and there are also two luxurious double and twin guest cabins.
Guests aboard ARIA I will have their every wish attended to by a crew of nine. When at anchor guests have the option of enjoying a wide range of waterborne activities, including the use of a jet-ski, water skiing, canoeing and snorkelling.
Should ARIA I ever require a reference, the fact that this vessel was chosen beyond all others as the luxury sailing vessel to be a centrepiece of the James Bond movie, Skyfall, says everything.
