Among bluewater cruising yachts, HIGH ASPECT is unique, boasting shallow draft of just 1.6m with centreboard raises, allowing it to anchor in shallow water to deliver charter guests right on to the sand of the most secluded beaches. Conversely she has 3.2m draft with the centreboard down for passagemaking
With accommodation for eight charter guests, there are two double staterooms aft, each with ensuite head and shower, vanity basin and storage. Forward there are two, teak-panelled double staterooms, each with ensuite head and vanity basin and a large shared shower. Each cabin has a large overhead hatch plus port holes, generous storage space and AC climate control. Crew quarters are totally self-contained with separate facilities.
In the main salon, charter guests can enjoy bar, TV, entertainment centre, DVD library and board games, and the formal dining area offers seating for eight.
HIGH ASPECT's outstanding asset is the enormous centre cockpit – possibly the largest of any boat her size – fully shaded from the sun or tropical showers, perfect for al fresco dining for eight, or 12 for cocktail parties and evening buffets, all with uninterrupted ocean views and sultry breezes.
As well as swim steps and a drop-down transom and ladder, there is a fully equipped diver's entrance, or swim and snorkelling platform.
Both Captain Keith and Chef Linda are long-time crew, and both experienced sailors and divers. Water sports are well catered for, and the yacht's 4m tender with 60HP outboard is the ideal getabout, transporting up to six charter guests at a time – ideal for accessing the idyllic sandbars on Fiji's outer reef.
HIGH ASPECT'S galley is fully equipped with gas and electric oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, ice cream maker, kettle, toaster, washer/dryer, dual freezer, dual fridge and salad chiller.
Onboard specialties are listed as Chef Linda's Cordon Bleu Cuisine, fly fishing, sea plane and helicopter transfers and bob diving, which according to her Captain, Keith Jones, is perfect for newcomers to the sport – involving a small scuba set that allows from three to 10 minutes underwater, without all the gear that standard scuba requires.
Then there's the Samara board, an underwater ski that allows the dinghy to tow snorkelers or bob divers underwater – tremendous fun for all ages!
From sublime under sail to power by engine, HIGH ASPECT achieves a cruising speed of 9 knots with a 6-cylinder 130HP diesel Perkins Sabre motor.
