The impressive 72m (236ft) SOLO by Italian yard Tankoa premiered at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show, to unanimous praise from charter brokers, media and visitors, and is available for charter in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
Luxury Charter Group were guests onboard and enjoyed warm hospitality of the Captain and crew with mouthwatering gourmet finger food showcasing the Chef and Sous Chef’s skills served alongside rich Tuscan wines.
Already, SOLO has been honoured with a slew of prestigious awards, including the 2018 World Yachts Award for the ‘most efficient yacht’ and the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show/RINA Award recognising her compliance to the environmental standards established by the Italian classification company RINA.
Designed for private and charter use, SOLO is the sistership of 69.3m (227.36ft) SUERTE, but is 3m longer and has a larger volume of 1,600+ gross tons.
Other noteworthy differences include underwater exhausts which mean more space on all decks, including a larger winter garden; a larger aft deck with 6m pool; a helipad on the foredeck; glass bulwarks sections for unobstructed sea views; and a wide-body upper deck allowing for an oversized panoramic saloon.
The oversized Beach Club section aboard SOLO is bound to be of high appeal to her charter guests.
The aft section of the bridgedeck features an enormous observation lounge with almost floor-to-ceiling windows, 90” 4K QLED TV screen, baby grand piano, bar and bio-ethanol fireplace.
Designed inside and out by Francesco Paszkowski, with furniture by Fendi Casa, SOLO is a lavish superyacht, boasting an oversized glass-walled gym by Technogym with fold-out terrace, linked to the spa zone with sauna, its own fold-out terrace, hammam and chilled water shower.
In terms of décor, the owner wanted extensive use of natural materials in a modern, balanced way, while also being timeless and understated. All the marble used in the yacht, with the exception of the onyx, has a satin finish. Most of the wood is also satin finished while it is highlighted with high-gloss Macassar ebony.
Ceilings are made of brushed aluminium panels, tinted grey oak and nubuck. Stones are Forest Black Antique marble from France, Cappuccino marble from Rajasthan, Striato Elegante Honed marble from India, and Pure White Onyx from Mexico.
SOLO has accommodation for 12 guests in six cabins, including the master suite on the private owner's deck, a VIP suite, and four doubles, two of which are convertible into twins. The hair salon/spa room and owner’s study can also be converted into additional cabins with ensuite bathrooms. The VIP and guest cabins, situated on the main deck, offer sweeping sea views thanks to large windows.
The owner’s apartment features a private study/media room and a large island bed surrounded by full-height windows with 180° views, an overhead skylight and direct access to two intimate outdoor terraces, shaded sunpads and a mosaic-tiled, glass-walled jacuzzi.
The aft deck is equipped with a six-metre swimming pool, sofas and a pop-up TV screen recessed into the ceiling which converts the entire space into an outdoor cinema.
Forward of the winter garden, the main deck houses a cinema lounge and library that can be enclosed by an electric sliding glass panel, dining room with table for 16, and a fish tank. Large windows allow for unobstructed sea views while dining.
The central tender bay houses two custom-made 7.5m luxury tenders and diving equipment while other water toys are stored in the forward side garages.
In terms of eco-credentials, SOLO has been hailed one the most efficient yachts ever built. The main engines are equipped with Eco Spray SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), significantly reducing emissions. SOLO is also equipped with a CO2 monitoring system allowing the captain to constantly balance speed to reduce emissions to the minimum.
The three Northern Lights generators, two 230 kW and one 155 kW, are equipped with HUG soot burners to eliminate the any black smoke stain on the sides of the hull and allow guests to enjoy all the exterior aft decks as well as the beach club with open terraces with no odours other than the salt air!
