Why Charter a Luxury Yacht in the Caribbean these Holidays!
When winter starts to bite there is no better way to spread the warmth of the holiday season than by spending it in the warmth of the Caribbean with your loved ones aboard the best luxury charter motor yachts and sailing yachts, cruising in calm seas, with the picture-perfect backdrop of verdant islands and tropical ports. Whether it is for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year this will be a holiday to remember!
The Caribbean spans over 7,000 islands and offers a huge diversity of activities and experiences to the holiday-maker, and a luxury yacht charter offers you the opportunity to sample some of the best of it. The allure of the sun-kissed islands of the Caribbean tantalize and tempt. They are a captivating destination for luxury charter yachts and their guests.
Some of the highlights that we at Luxury Charter Group particularly love about the Caribbean are:
1. The Beaches
With a seriously long list of fabulous award-winning beaches in the Caribbean trying to decide the location of the best ones was difficult. Everyone, of course, will have their favourites whether it is quiet and secluded coves, wide sweeping bays with laidback beach bars or a busier seaside, home to 5 star resorts.
The island reputed to have the most beautiful beaches is Anguilla which really excels in postcard-worthy stretches of sand. And on Anguilla there is a long list of those that deserve the accolade of the best beach. Fortunately, on a luxury charter yacht you are not restricted to just one but have the opportunity to sample many of them.
2. The Snorkelling
Again the choice of where the best snorkelling is to be had is a difficult one. Among our favourite places is the snorkelling in the Tobago Cay Marine Park, as well as Champagne Reef in Domenica, not to mention Exuma Cays in the Bahamas and Trunk Bay in St John, amongst a long list of others.
Another incredible area to explore is the underwater trail that Buck Island provides. Situated near St. Croix, this is a U.S. Reef National Monument teems with a wealth of fish, coral and marine life in an amazing display of colours, forms, textures and designs. You will swim with some of the over 250 fish species that live here along with a variety of other marine life including eagle rays, sea turtles and reef sharks.
It really is an astonishing underwater world located in crystalline aquamarine waters and experiencing the snorkelling in the Caribbean will no doubt be one of the highlights of any holiday, even one on a luxury charter yacht that provides a vacation full of extraordinary and special times.
3. The Food
Caribbean cuisine is an eclectic mix of influences from Africa, Asia, Europe and America. It is a cuisine that features vivid seasonings, luscious fruits and exceptionally fresh seafood, meats & poultry. Although having similar ingredients each region has developed its own distinct dishes that reflect the make-up of their locals. Their food is as striking and colourful as the islands themselves and there are any number of destinations that offer foodies tantalizing treats in stunning tropical scenery.
Some of our favourite islands for food are those with a French history. Islands such as Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint Martin all have a cuisine that reflects their strong connection with France richly fused with African and Creole flavours. These French outposts enjoy the characteristic Gallic passion for food and cooking, yet with a definitive Caribbean twist. French classics and traditional island fare combine providing culinary surprises that are rich and exotic.
And good food is everywhere. French bakeries abound; there are humble roadside stalls offering fastfood that while fast is also delicious; local bistros and beach bars serve quality casual cuisine and elegant eateries provide highly polished presentations with high-end ingredients!
Both Francophiles and foodies love visiting the tropical gastronomic paradise that the Caribbean is, and you too can have the opportunity to sample her delights when on a luxury charter yacht here.
4. The Resorts
The Caribbean with more than 7,000 islands offers something for every traveller, including the rich and very rich wanting luxury, privacy and awe-inspiring views. There are numerous expensive private islands that offer the celebrities and wealthy the ultimate setting for their vacations. And the joy of a crewed yacht charter is that you too can be part of this opulent lifestyle and visit one or more of these resorts while you are on your own dream vacation.
The Grenadines offer a few amazing islands very much worth visiting. Probably the most famous is Mustique. It is known throughout the world as a hideaway for the rich and famous with gracious private villas and two five star hotels, the Cotton House and Firefly. It is one of the world's hottest tourist destinations for high profile guests and royalty.
A smaller but equally beautiful is the island of Petit St Vincent with just 22 luxury cottages scattered along the bluffs surrounded by lush tropical greenery overlooking white sand beaches and turquoise blue seas. It is a dream idyll and one the welcomes luxury charter guests to their private restaurant and bar.
The Caribbean is home to many other exclusive resorts that welcome guests, where you can step ashore from your luxury charter yacht and enjoy privacy and tranquillity or sophisticated entertainment in the most beautiful of settings. St Barts, for example, offers a whole range of top-tier resorts like Le Guanahani, Eden Rock and Cheval Blanc while the BVIs is home to Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island, the legendary private-island resort that has hosted everyone from Barack Obama to Kate Winslet.
The Caribbean offers an incredible range of options. Snorkeling, sailing, jetskiing, combing the beach of a deserted island or just enjoying the passing panoramas from your lounge on the deck – the choice is yours. On land, the attractions range from hiking and horse riding to championship golf courses and spa resorts, or visiting charming colonial towns, cocktails or authentic cuisine at island restaurants, rustic and 5-star.
