WEATHER: The Seychelles have an average temperature of 27 deg C with a range that rarely drops below 24 deg C nor rises above 32 deg C. The dry season comes with the Southeast trade winds and is between May and September with the wettest months being November, December and January. However even when it rains it tends to be only localized showers with lots of sunshine. Between October to April the winds come from the Northwest and are gentler than those from the Southeast.

AIRPORTS: There are a number of airports on the islands with the Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) or Aéroport de la Pointe Larue in French, being the main international airport located on the island of Mahé near the capital city of Victoria

CURRENCY: Seychellois rupee (SCR) although many places accept USD while the larger resorts also accept Euros, UK Pounds and other major currencies. Banks are limited to the capital on Mahe and the larger inhabited islands while credit cards are only accepted at major resorts and there are very few ATMs.

CULTURAL: The Seychelles have only been inhabited since the mid-1700s and the people are a mix of immigrants from France as well as Africa, India, China and the UK. Local people, the Seychellois, though small in number, are very agreeable and friendly. They enjoy introducing visitors to their lifestyle, cuisine and customs which is a unique blend of creole culture.
